Ministry of Finance has lately issued Official Letter No. 3055/BTC-TCT regulating frame work of value-added taxes on international freight charges.

Accordingly, the taxes on exported goods and services and international transportation services will be applied at 0 percent, in which international transportation services include passengers, cargos and goods in international routes from Vietnam to other countries and vice versa.

The international transportation services to be applied the 0 percent tax must satisfy all the requirements such as having signed contract on transporting passengers and cargos between the forwarding firms and the hirers, and bank transfer receipts.
